Oil Free Hummus

 Hummus with crackers make a good apetizer, or serve it with pitas for a light meal.  Here is a basic recipe and some variations.

Basic Recipe
2 cans chick peas
3 cloves garlic
Juice of one lemon
1 teaspoon cummin
1/4 cup water

Put everything in a blender and blend until smooth.  

Mix-ins (add one or more)

1/4 cup sun dried tomatoes
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1 cup fresh spinach
1/4 cup cashews or almonds.
fresh basil leaves
cooked carrots or squash

Chill and serve with crackers of pitas.  It will keep in the fridge for some time.
